Wife of Mr Peck, and mother of Rosa Ellen Peck. Jannette and Mr Peck separated, and when Rosa Ellen was three years old, Jannette married Merritt DeForest, son of David DeForest and Laura Temple. They married in Milford, Indiana and moved to Michigan where they would settle on a farm one miles north and three miles east of Bellevue, Michigan. They had five (?) children:
* Ellen Peck, Mrs John Welcher, Mrs Garrett Cook 1866-1936
* Laura Susan, Mrs Charles Wilson LeClear
* Ed DeForest
* Lizzie De Forest
* Myrtle, Mrs George Shapely
* Iva De Forest, Mrs William Aumick

The LeClear family tree lists Merit DeForest's wife as Jennette Van Scooter.

From Laura Rose LeClear's handwritten family tree of 1936:
David DeForest was a carpenter and farmer. He was born in France. Laura Temple was mostly Irish and was born in the state of New York. Jannette and her husband parted and later she had a daughter, Rosellen Elmira Peck, Cook. When Ellen was 3 yrs old Jannette married David DeForest.
