Services for Ms. Smith will be at 2 Wednesday afternoon at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with interment at the Hood Cemetery in the Warren Community. A visitation for Ms. Smith will be from 12 noon until 2 Wednesday afternoon at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland.
Ms. Smith was born January 7, 1936 in Memphis. She was preceded in death by her parents, Troy Riley Dunlap and Gladys Dorothy Wilburn Dunlap. She received her education in the Memphis City Public School System and was employed by the Schering-Plough Company in Memphis for 20 years as a production worker. She was later employed by the Kroger Company in Bartlett as a deli worker.
Ms. Smith was Baptist in faith and lived in the Lakeland Community for 30 years and Somerville for 1 1/2 years. She enjoyed traveling to Tunica and playing the slot machines, fishing, shopping, going to concerts and ice skating dance competitions. Special times with her children, family and friends was a favorite pastime. She had a special love for dogs.
Ms. Smith is survived by her daughter, Cathy Foster (Tommy) of Somerville; her son, Michael Edward Davis of Somerville; her sister, Donna Herndon (James) of Oswego, IL; three grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the church, charity or organization of the donor's choice.
