Daughter of famous Maryland pioneer, Dr. Thomas Gerrard and Susanna Snow, one of the largest landholders and political figures in Maryland. She inherited much land from her father, called St. Clements Manor with 1,000 acres of land known as White Point. Married twice: 1st, Robert Slye; 2nd, Col. John Coode. When her father, Dr. Thomas Gerrard died, a bad storm all but destroyed the manor house and the entire family graveyard washed away into the Potomac River. The photograph shows a photo after the storm. You can see how close to the house the dirt has slipped away taking the family graveyard with it, even though the graves were in a different area than the house.
