Our Family Rock, Teresa Acuna, was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She passed on Monday, April 22, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Teresa was born on October 12, 1938 in El Paso, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents Blas and Aurelia Hinojosa; her four brothers, Tony, Blas, Felipe, and Lico; and sister Chaya. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Marcelo G. Acuna. They were married on October 16, 1955, She is also survived by four sisters and one brother: Delia, Mary, Emma, Alicia, and Bobby; her eight children (four daughters, three sons, and one step-daughter) Sylvia Rocha, Rose Allen, Cynthia Garcia, Anna Martinez, David Acuna, Daniel Acuna, Marcelo J. Acuna, and Barbara Acuna. In addition to her seven children she was known as "Granny" to 27 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.

Teresa was a giving, loving, and compassionate woman who loved gardening and watching hummingbirds while saying her morning prayers. She had beautiful gardens filled with all kinds of flowers, and she had a saying "Buy me flowers to enjoy now, not just when I'm gone." So the next time you see a hummingbird, picture Teresa praying to her Father in Heaven, who has called her home. From your loving children, "We Love You Mom!" Visitation will be held at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel, 3612 East 91st Street South, Tulsa, Oklahoma on Thursday April 25, 2013 from 5:00 pm -7:00 pm, Rosary to follow at 7:00 pm. Funeral Service will be held at Saint Bernard of Clairvaux Parish, 4001 East 101st Street, Tulsa, Oklahoma on Friday April 26, 2013. Service will begin at 11:00 am with Reverend MSDR. Patrick Gaalaas and Father Mathew Gerlach officiating. Burial will follow at at Calvary Cemetery, 9101 South Harvard Avenue, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Preceding the burial there will be a reception at Saint Bernard of Clairvaux Parish. Please join us in celebration of our Mom's everlasting life in Heaven with our God.
