Death of Moses R. Nelson

Moses R. Nelson, 71, died at his home on bald mountain Wednesday, Sept. 4th. Mr. Nelson was one of a family of seven children of John Nelson and was born in Leyden, moving to his present home when he was 11 years of age, and with the exception of four years, his life had been spent there. Of the seven children but two survive, Mrs. Laura M. Chancy of Dakota and Mrs. Janette Chapin of this town. Mr. Nelson was a genial, kindly man, one to whom his friends instinctively turned when in trouble and a special source of strength to his family for whom he could not do enough.

He was an active member of the Methodist Church, standing behind the preacher with influence and help both financial and moral. He was a great hunter in his earlier years and had a stock of knowledge of diseases of domestic animals that made him authority far and near. In 1865Georgianne Streeter, who with five sons survive him. The sons are Cola R. of Mount Herman, Arthur H. and Leon F. of this town, Luman L. of Winchester, N. H. and Walter L. of Springfield. Funeral services will be held at the Methodist church this afternoon at 1 o'clock.
