WIS. RAPIDS -- Melvin G. Koch, 69, of 220 10th Ave. N., died Friday, July 8, 1994, at St. Joseph's Hospital Hospice Unit, Marshfield.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Rev. Normal Paul will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in St. Peter's Cemetery, Marathon County town of McMillan.
Koch was born July 20, 1924 in Milwaukee to George and Leda (Schilling) Koch.
He attended town of McMillan schools and graduated from Marshfield Senior High School in 1942. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1942-1949, in the South Pacific Theater, and, in 1949, enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he served in Hong Kong and Korea. He was a member of Wisconsin Rapids American Legion Post 9.
Koch was employed by Texlite Inc., Dallas, for 10 years as an expediter, returning to Wisconsin in 1973, when he was employed at Bethel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Arpin; Family Heritage Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Wisconsin Rapids and Schreiber Foods, Wisconsin Rapids, until his retirement.
Survivors include one sister, Darlene (Gerald) Lucht, address not reported. He was predeceased by his parents.
Friends may call at Taylor Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. Monday, and at the church from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday.
Memorials may be designated to Northland Lutheran Parochial High School, in care of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Wisconsin Rapids.
