Elda M. Buchanan

Elda Mae Buchanan, daughter of Earl and Zetta Clement Allen, was born February 22, 1919, at Council Bluffs, Iowa, and died November 2, 1998, at the Republic County Hospital, Belleville, Kansas, at the age of 79 years, eight months and 10 days.

She received her education in the public schools and graduated from Bartley, Nebraska High School.

She was a homemaker.

She was united in marriage to Lewis R. Buchanan on May 24, 1939, at Fremont, Nebraska, and to this union three children were born.

She was a member of the Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lewis R. Buchanan, and a brother, Cal Allen.

She is survived by two sons, Donald Buchanan of Belleville, Kansas, and Richard Buchanan of Wichita, Kansas, a daughter, Ronda Davis of Edmond, Oklahoma, four grandchildren, a brother, Sid Allen of McCook, Nebraska, and a sister, Edna Smith of Cambridge, Nebraska.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, November 5, 1998, at the Bachelor-Faulkner-Dart-Surber Memorial Chapel, Belleville, Kansas, with Rev. Rachael Hanson officiating.

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, November 5, 1998, at the McPherson Cemetery, McPherson, Kansas.
