Martha Eldorado (or Eldora) Butler was the daughter of Confederate Veteran Clark Butler and the former Miss Mary Elizabeth Lovvorn. She is the granddaughter of Whitaker Henry Butler & Mirium Walker Butler, as well as James Monroe Lovvorn and Bathsheba Traylor Lovvorn.

Martha married James Thomas Adams; and to this union was born children, Clark James Henry, Lucious Terrell, John Elbert, unnamed infant (1894), Sarah Elizabeth "Lizzie" (Malone), Auzy Anna G., Mary Lee, Samuel Benjamin, and Santford Franklin "Ted".

Martha died August 18, 1918, in Huntsville, Alabama ("Lowe Village", a cotton mill housing project). Her cause of death is listed as malignant malaria.
