Harold M. "Rich" Richards

Graveside services will be held on Saturday May 7, 2005 at 11:30 am at Rankin Cemetery in Walker Basin for Harold "Rich" Richards, 72, who passed away at his home in Bellflower on April 30th. Rich was born in Huntington Park, Calif. on October 18, 1932.

An Army veteran who served in the Korean conflict he had been a plumber for over 50 years. Growing up, Rich spent many years ranching with his uncle, Arthur Esponda, in the Piute and Onyx region.

He grew to love the people and the majestic beauty of the area. His ancestral roots were drawn from there and he made it a point to make a trip up to visit the burial site of his relatives and friends and felt great pride in maintaining the Esponda and Ames section of the cemetery.

Mr. Richards is survived by his wife, Muriel; daughters, Jana Richards and Joanne Bloot and husband Marty; grandchildren, Andrew and Joshua Bloot and Leah Richards and his aunt. Lutey Peterson. No visitation is scheduled. Doughty Calhoun-O'Meara Funeral Directors.

He was the son of Robert Roy Richards, born 25 October 1906 Nebraska, died 5 November 1992 Ash Fork, Yavapai Co., Arizona and Marceline Francine Esponda, born 1910 Loraine, Kern Co., died 15 February 1998 Los Angeles Co.. Robert's siblings were Robert Martin and Marvin Arthur Richards.

Siblings Marvin Arthur and Robert Melvin Richards are also buried in this cemetery.
