He was born January 17, 1904 to James R. and Victoria B. (Foreman) Abbett at Brighton, CO. On August 10, 1935 he married Murriel V. Noell at Loveland, CO.
Mr. Abbett grew up in Brighton. He worked for the fire department at Loveland for eight years before moving to Greeley. He was employed by Herdman Electric. He then owned and operated Abbett Electric Co. from 1945 - 1978 when he retired due to his health.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Occidental Lodge No. 20 AM & AM, Greeley Chapter No. 13 RAM, Greeley Commandry No. 10 Knight Templer, Garden City Chapter No. 3 Order of Eastern Star, Mahi Shrine No. 18 WSOJ, Greeley Lodge No. 809 BPOE, IBEW and past member of Knights of Pythias.
Survivors are his wife, Murriel of Greeley; two daughters, Mrs. Arvin (Patricia Ann) Cropp of Northglenn, CO, Mrs. Roberta Rae Hite of Greeley; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; and a sister, Mrs. Arden (Belle) Bryant of LaMesa, CA.
