Cecilia Fairchild, 101, of Sigourney, died Tuesday, May 30, at the Sigourney Care Center.

Mrs. Fairchild was born June 20, 1893, near Harper, to Conrad and Mary Klett Allar.

She married Albert J. Conrad January 12, 1915, in Harper. He died October 7, 1919. She married Alva Fairchild September 14, 1921. He died August 26, 1968.

She attended St. E1izabeth School in Harper. She lived near Houghton and Fairfield and farmed with her first husband. With her second husband she lived and farmed in the Delta and Kinross areas, until they moved to Sigourney in 1947.

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the Altar and Rosary Society and the VFW Auxiliary.

Survivors include two sons; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; and one sister.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands, one son, Elmer Conrad, and two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 2, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sigourney with Fathers Philip Ryan, Robert Harness and Sylvester Conrad officiating. Burial was at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery near Harper.
