MIneral Point- Leona R. Pederson, age 84, of MIneral Point died on Tuesday, May 3, 1988, at the Mineral Point Living Center. The former Leona Hildreth was born on Sept. 8, 1903, the daughter of John B. and Mary Jane (Fawcett) Hildreth. She married Herman M. Pederson on Apr. 22, 1925. They farmed in the Willow Springs area until his death in January of 1939.

She then made her home in Mineral Point, where she cared for her parents and worked at Burgess Battery Company for many years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the UMW. She was also a volunteer at the Hodan Center, and a member of the Royal Neighbors. She had been a resident of the Mineral Point Living Center since September of 1987, after suffering a stroke. Her main hobby was growing and caring for her flowers.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Alona (Ralph) Proctor, Dodgeville; five sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Agnew and Mrs. Caroline (Warren) Munson, both of Rockford, Ill., Mrs. Lillian Friedii, Madison, Mrs. Jean Benson, DeKalb, Ill., and Mrs. Ellen Rasmussen, Madison; a sister in law, Mrs. Leona Hildredth, Mineral Point; eight grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Mrs. Irene Lynch, and Mrs. Viola Griffin; a brother, Thomas Hildreth; and two grandsons.

Funeral services will be at the United Methodist Church, Darlington, with burial in the Union Grove Cemetery.
