Mr. Cox was born August 31, 1947 in Gainesboro, TN to Thomas Alonzo Cox, Sr. and Eliza Ruth Harris.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and other family members, Nina Sue and Myrtle Jean Cox, Herbert and Sammy Bennett, Thomas Alonzo Cox, Jr. and Charlie Ross Cox.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Carol Cox; children, Tracy Cox, Wendy Cox, Billy Cox, II, Kelly Cox and Amanda Wood; brothers, Cecil Cole & James Cole; grandchildren, Richard Cox, Corey Cox, Brianna Cox, Christopher Cox, Kain Cox, Taylor Cox, Billy Cox, Casey Cox, Arianna Cox, Nathan Pruitt, Chad Cox, Isaiah Humphries, Porscha Greer, Gabriel Cox and Umar West; one great-grandchild; brothers, Shirley Cox and Odell Bennett; and Ruthie Guateri.
A celebration of Mr. Cox's life will be conducted at 12 P.M., Saturday, April 27, 2013 from the Chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home.
Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3 P.M. until 8 P.M. on Friday, April 26 at Spring Hill Funeral Home.
