US ARMY - WORLD WAR II

Frederick W. Dillen, 94, of Messiah Village, Upper Allen Twp., formerly of New Cumberland RD, died Friday, April 26, 2013, at his residence.
He served in the army in World War II.
He was a skilled machinist and could fix just about anything. He worked for many years at the Phoenix Iron and Steel Corp. and retired from the L. B. Smith Corporation, Heavy Equipment Division, Lemoyne.
He was a member of New Cumberland Alliance Church. Born on June 1, 1918, he was the son of the late Lloyd and Ada (Holt) Dillen. He was the widower of Eva P. (Sunday) Dillen and was also preceded in death by a brother, Walter, and a sister, Thelma Burke.
Surviving are two sons, Ralph E. Dillen (Judy) of Mechanicsburg and Fredrick L. Dillen (Nancy) of Melbourne, FL; a sister, Patricia Hoffman of Ebensburg; two grandchildren, Melissa S. Marchalonis (Robert) of Lancaster and Jeffrey S. Dillen (Celeste) of Silver Spring, MD; five great grandchildren, Sidney, Benjamin, and Dashiell (Dillen) and Michael and Matthew (Marchalonis).
Memorial services will be held in the chapel in Messiah Village, 100 Mount Allen Drive, Mechanicsburg, at 4 PM on Saturday, May 4, 2013, with Pastor JR Irving officiating. Burial will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Twp, at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Cumberland Alliance Church, 142 Spangler's Mill Road, New Cumberland, Pa 17070; Messiah Village Endowment Fund, PO Box 2015, Mechanicsburg, Pa 17055 or Hospice of Central PA., 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA. 17110.
