Sarah A. "Sally" Barber, 81, died at 11:55 a.m. Sept. 4, 1999, at Lima Memorial Hospital. She was born Jan. 4, 1918, in Lima to Frank and Harriet A. Turner Fredline. On Nov. 5, 1938, she married Gerald L. Barber, who survives. Mrs. Barber retired in 1982 as a sales clerk from the Lima Bargain Center. She was a 50 year member of First United Methodist Church. She bowled for several years in the church league and Senior Citizens League. Survivors also include a son, Jerry L. (Jan) Barber of Swartz Creek, Mich., a daughter, Marta D. (Greg) Brown of Ohio City; a sister, Helena M. Rutter of Eustis, Fla.; seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a brother, Franklin M. Fredline. Services will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Shawnee Chapel of Chiles and Sons-Laman Funeral Homes. The Rev. Wilsonia McClean will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Kidney Foundation.
