BENTON HARBOR - Frank Bowman Sr., 84, of Benton Harbor died Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph.
Frank, a long-time Southwest Michigan resident, was born March 17, 1926, in Prattville, Ala., the son of Bosie Bowman Sr. and Ida Lee Washington Bowman.
He retired from Martin Brothers Mill and Foundry in Benton Harbor in 1985. A crane operator, he had been employed there for more than 40 years.
Immediate family survivors include five children - Frank Bowman Jr. (Tina), Randy Bowman (Lillie), Rodney Bowman, and Betsy Kreichauf (Ronald), all of Benton Harbor, and Patricia Fowler (Lee), of Madison, Wis.; sisters - Ida Campbell of Montgomery, Ala., Lillie Isom of Benton Harbor and Bessie Isom (Johnnie) of Flint, Mich.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sarah Elizabeth Bowman; daughters, Martha Page and Mona Neal; and brothers - Albert Walters, Ray Bowman, Stokes Bowman, Wylie Bowman, Charles Bowman and Bosie Bowman Jr.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, Aug. 3, at Greater Faith Apostolic Church in Benton Harbor. Family visitation begins at 11 a.m., followed by the funeral services at noon.
