A Lebanon native who came to Muncie as a child with his parents, Edward and Frances Hamilton Ulrey, he attended Harrison Elementary School and Muncie Central High School. When he retired in 1965 he had been employed at Warner Gear for 32 years. He and his wife moved to Florida three years later. While in Muncie, he attended the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Opal Haigh Ulrey; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Charles (Joanne) Graham, Chesterfield; a son, Robert Ulrey, near Parker City; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a niece and nephew.
The Rev. Harold Clark will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Anderson. Friends may call at the mortuary from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and prior to services Tuesday.
