Obituary
Grace Beverly (Stimson) Ade
Grace Beverly (Stimson) Ade, 79, passed away April 2, 2013 at Providence Hospital, Everett, WA. Grace was born October 1, 1933 in Minneapolis, MN, the daughter of Lyle and Violet Stimson. After a lengthy battle with Cancer and days of struggle in ICU, Grace found a peaceful ending in the arms of her beloved husband of 52 years, and surrounded by her five children and family.
Grace was the loving wife, of Robert D. Ade "Bob"; and dedicated mother of Robin Ade, Dawn Chaplin, Todd Ade, Rob Ade and Sharon Ade, all of whom survive her and live in the area; and stepson, David Ware of St. Louis. Grace was also the loving grandmother of Keith Chaplin, Christopher Chaplin, Jordan Ade, and Alexis Owens. Grace is also survived by brother, Carroll Stimson; sisters, Lyla Tutt and Maxine Mottram, all of Minnesota.
Grace was preceded in death by sisters, Gloria Norman and Nancy Timothy.
Grace was raised in Minneapolis and attended West High School until the family moved late in her senior year to Pine River, MN where she graduated in 1951. While working at Minneapolis-Honeywell Company she met her soon to be husband. Bob and Grace got to know, and enjoy, a large part of the country through corporate moves while raising their family, including living in Minnesota, New York, Wisconsin, New Jersey, Ohio, Colorado and Virginia. It was a lot of moving but it created a special bond for the family, and with seven of us you always had a friend. In 1993 Bob and Grace moved to Mukilteo, WA to retire in an area where all her children have settled.
Grace and Bob were soul mates in their creative flairs that they expressed through a candle business "Candles by Grace" in the 1960's and 1970's run from their home "factory" with the kids as employees and later from the 1980's on thru the present with self
designed and produced "Kaleidoscopes by Bob and Grace Ade", both businesses drew buyers and collectors nationally and internationally. (www.tinyurl.com/7g2mf2m).
Grace and Bob also had a great love of travel throughout the U.S. and enjoyed trips to many countries. Grace particularly loved her African Safaris in S. Africa, Kenya and Tanzania.
Grace wasn't shy about stating that she felt she had lived a great life! She had a strong interest in health publications and it was Grace's wish that her remains to be used for scientific research. Her wish was granted as she has been accepted by the University of Washington Medical School. We are certain that she will graduate with honors.
