nrFrancis O'Neill purchased a tract of land in Easttown Township in Chester County, Pennsylvania in 1801.

He served in the War of 1812 as a private in the 65th Pennsylvania Volunteer Militia, under the command of Lieutenant Colonel John Pearson. He was assigned to Captain Jacob Campbell's 3rd Company from Chester County, serving at Camp Marcus Hook.
