Isabel Scott Bowen, 93, of Fort Smith died Wednesday, June 29, 2005, in a Fort Smith hospital. She was born Aug. 3, 1911, in Camp John Hay, Philippine Island. She was a homemaker, a graduate of George Washington University with a degree in journalism, a member of National Society of Daughters of American Revolution and Dallas Oaks Presbyterian Church, former member of Fort Smith Garden Club, Republican, Inter Faith Community Center and the Pearl Buck Foundation. Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith. She is survived by two sons, William Bowen of Fayetteville and Robert Bowen of Fort Smith; a sister, Mary Underwood of Washington, D.C.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to Dallas Oaks Presbyterian Church.
