Parents:
Robert Orville Tripp (1816-1909)
Emeline Skelton Tripp (1824-1886)

For many years Addie ran the country store in Woodside, California established by her father Robert O. Tripp (1816-1909)and his partner Matthias Parkhurst (1829-1863) in 1854. She closed it down after her father died in 1909.

Over the years she engaged in legal battles with the estate of Matthias Parkhurst to obtain clear title to the land, store and even the house where she lived. Even though Mr. Parkhurst died in 1863 the matter wasn't resolved until 1913 when Addie was finally able to sell some of her property. Before she died in 1926 she deeded the old store to the church in Woodside. Currently the store is a museum.

Samuel Skelton (1584-1634) was the first pastor of the First Church in Salem Massachusetts, the original Puritan Church in America. He was the Immigrant Great Grandfather of Addie's mother Emeline Skelton Tripp. He was also my 11th great grandfather.
