Robert A. "Bucky" Mass, Sr., 93, of Bellaire, OH died Wednesday April 24, 2013 at the Belmont Manor Nursing Home, St. Clairsville, OH.
He was born July 14, 1919 in Bellaire, a son of the late Salvatore and Anna Panella Mass.
Bucky was a retired employee of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporations Martins Ferry Plant, a member of St. John Catholic Church, Italian American Club, Sons of Italy # 754 all of Bellaire and served in the Civilian Conservation Corps.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Grace Evelyn Witt Mass in October of 2012, three sisters and six brothers.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary (Joe) DeGenova; a son Rob (Denise) Mass both of Bellaire; four grandchildren, Annemarie (Michael) Dimmick, Anthony DeGenova, David Mass and Dana Mass; great grandchildren, Kellan and Marina; a step-great grandchild, Coltn and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Home & Crematory 441 37th Street Bellaire with a Vigil Service at 7:45 pm.
A Sons of Italy Service will be held at 6:30 pm in the funeral home.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 11 am at St. John Catholic Church with Fr. Daniel Heusel as celebrant. Burial follows in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Bellaire.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. John Grade School 350 37th Street Bellaire, OH 43906.
