He was born April 7, 1925 in Byrnedale, PA to the late Andrew and Maddelena ( Picchetti ) Panighetti. He married Adeline M. DePhillippe on June 29, 1946. She preceded him in death on December 10, 1986.
He attended Byrnedale School and was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church.
He was owner and operator of A and J Dairy Treat in Salem for 41 years and had retired from Damus Brothers Bottling Company after 25 years of service.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree, past president of the Home Association and charter member of the Alhambra.
He is survived by 3 daughters: Andrea A. Keller of Grampian, PA., Mrs. Harry ( Camille) Reitz of Brookville, PA and Mrs. Greg ( Deanne) Nelson of Nakomis, Florida, 1 son: John "Buzz" Panighetti and his wife Patty of DuBois, PA., 1 sister: Edith Agosti of Weedville, PA and 1 brother: Geno Panighetti of Erie, PA.
Also Surviving are 7 grandchildren: Laura Pentz, Stephen Keller Jr., David Reitz, Nicholas Reitz, Rebecca Reitz, Lou Panighetti and Amy Panighetti and 7 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers: Andrew and Mario Panighetti and 2 sisters Irid and Ines Panighetti.
Visitation will be held Monday February 21, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM and on Tuesday from 8:30 until 9:30 AM at the Mohney-Yargar Funeral Chapel, Inc., 142 West Long Ave, DuBois, PA.
A scriptual wake service will be held Monday at 3 PM at the funeral chapel.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church.
Burial will follow in St Joseph Cemetery.
