ANDREW J. PROUDFIT
Andrew J. Proudfit, aged 79 years, a lifelong resident of Smith township Washington county, is dead at his late home, near Burgettstown. He was a member of the Presbyterian church. He married Miss Elizabeth Porter, who with one daughter, Miss Ida Proudfit, survives.

The Washington Observer, March 10, 1910:
Andrew J. Proudfit, a native and lifelong resident of Smith Township, died yesterday afternoon at his home one mile north of Burgettstown, aged 79 years. Mr. Proudfit had been in poor health since last November, but had been seriously ill only three weeks. He was born on a farm not farm from his late home and spent his entire life in agricultural pursuits. Since early manhood he had been a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Burgettstown, taking an active interest in church work. In 1865 he was united in marriage with Miss Elizabeth Porter, who with one daughter, Miss Ida Proudfit, at home, survives. Funeral services in charge of the Rev. W. M. Hays of Burgettstown and the Rev. A. F. Alexander, of Florence, will be held at the home Wednesday afternoon. The interment to be in Fairview Cemetery.
