Marjorie M. Schmidt, 85, of Bridgeport, died Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Morrill County Community Hospital in Bridgeport. Her funeral service will be held April 30, 2013 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Bridgeport. Interment will be at Oregon Trail Memorial Cemetery in Bridgeport. Marjorie was born July 11, 1927 in Bridgeport to Curly and Della (Smith) Vandivort. She received her education in Bridgeport and graduated from Bridgeport High School. She received her BA Degree in Education from Chadron State College. She taught elementary school in rural Nebraska and Loveland, CO. She married Clarence Reichert, then after his passing, she married Robert Schmidt.Marjorie and Robert spent many wonderful years together enjoying each other. They loved to fish and went to Canada to fish every year for 25 years; sometimes spending up to 6 weeks there at a time. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Bridgeport.
Marjorie is survived by her sons Roger (Mary) Schmidt of Gering, Loren Schmidt of Truth or Consequences, NM, and Glenn and Rex Schmidt both of Bridgeport; grandchildren Troy (Katie) Schmidt of Tabernash, CO, Josh (Stephanie) Schmidt of Bridgeport, Kelly Schmidt of Chicago, IL, Skylar Schmidt of Missoula, MT, Stan (Jen) Tavenner of Bayard and Anna Hadley of Denver, CO; and 12 great grandchildren.Her parents, husband Robert, daughter Janet Tavenner, son Richard Schmidt, sisters Mildred and Vera and brother Walt preceded her in death.
