Harvey Walker Doyle, 79, of Finley, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2013 at his residence.
He was a retired mail and maintenance employee for Inwood National Bank in Dallas, TX and a member of Finley Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of Korean War and was an avid race fan and loved sprint cars and NASCAR.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Dr. Charles Halliburton officiating. Burial will be in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive visitors from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Betty A. Doyle of Finley; a daughter, Jeannie Katherine Doyle of Edgewood, TX; two sons, David Glenn Doyle and wife, Alpha, of Irving, TX and Harvey Lynn Doyle and companion, Barbara, of Finley; seven grandsons; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Walker Doyle; and his parents, Glen and Maudie Walker Doyle.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Peckenpaugh, Harold Davison, Jerry Brock, Andy Davis, Anthony Evans and Robert Mauldin. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Moore and Dooner Wilson.
The family requests that memorials be directed to McIver's Grant Public Library.
