Esther A. Loring, 83, departed peacefully on June 23, 2011, in Battle Creek. Esther was born August 18, 1927, in Fenwick, West Virginia, to William and Elizabeth (Seabolt) Taylor, one of eleven children. She was united in marriage to Andrew J. Loring on March 21, 1948. Esther and her family moved to Battle Creek in 1963. Esther was employed by Eaton Corporation for over a decade. A faithful member of First Wesleyan Church, she volunteered with the children's ministry and helped prepare food for funeral meals. She was an active participant in her bible study group with friends whom she loved dearly. She was a regular volunteer at The Salvation Army soup kitchen where she served meals. She also enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Polish National Alliance Club. Esther was a loving and devoted wife, mother of four, grandmother to fourteen and great grandmother to sixteen. Preceding her in death were two children, A. Mickey Loring and Teri Ellen Loring, her parents and nine siblings. Surviving to cherish her memory are her husband of 63 years, Andrew J. Loring; children, Pamela (Loring) Lawson of Battle Creek and J. Michael Loring of Richmond, Indiana; her brother, Robert Taylor of Fenwick, West Virginia and all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
