Funeral services for Rev. James Henry Stone, 71, of Jonesville, LA will be held at Sandy Lake Pentecostal Church on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Lonnie Weidner, Bro. Floyd Hawthorne, Bro. Joel Ford, and Bro. Kevin Cox officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Rhinehart under the direction of Young's Funeral Home of Jonesville.

Rev. Stone was born on August 25, 1941 in Harrisonburg, and passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2013 at Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Pineville. He was a resident of Jonesville, a minister, member of Sandy Lake Pentecostal Church, a member of the VFW, and a member of the American Legion. He was a graduate of Harrisonburg High School, and then attended the University of Southern Mississippi where he majored in Business Administration-Management and Accounting. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy as an Aviation Machinist Mate, receiving a rank as First Class Petty Officer, and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War

Rev. Stone was raised in church at the Sandy Lake Pentecostal Church. At age 21, he received the Holy Ghost on January 23, 1963 and was baptized in Jesus Name the next Sunday. On June 4, 1964 he married the love of his life Judy Diann McEntyre. He obtained his ministerial licenses and became an ordained minister on May 4, 1988. In his lifetime he served as pastor of Ball United Pentecostal Church, First United Pentecostal Church of Starkville, Springhill United Pentecostal Church in Wesson, MS, and Eddiston United Pentecostal Church. He served as a missionary to the providence of Newfoundland, Canada. He served as a National Field Representative for "The Spirit of Freedom Ministries". He also served as the Editor of the MS District Monthly Publication: "The Torch", and the Home Missions Director for the State of Mississippi.

He enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, raising a garden, woodworking, and fishing. He spent his life giving to the Kingdom of God, his wife, boys, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends. This soldier of the Lord will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Pallbearers will be Rocky Stone, Justin McCollum, John Menona, Rusty Stone, J.T. Bryant, Elijah Stone, Joe Stone, and Dane Mills. Honorary Pallbearers will be his granddaughters.
