George Washington Ioerger was born April 27, 1850 in Metamora, Illinois to Michael Ioerger II and Louisa Wolf Ioerger. He came to Kansas in the late 1860's with his brothers Michael III and Albert. He married Louisa Henretta Kessler on June 1, 1876 in Pekin, Illinois. He died on May 11, 1919. She died in 1945 at the age of 89 and both are buried at Mt Hope cemetery in Independence, Kansas
