M. LaVerne Leigh, 91, of New Berlin, formerly of Springfield, died at 5:40 a.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Heritage Health in Mt. Sterling.
LaVerne was born February 18, 1922 in Springfield, the daughter of Patrick and Anna Marie (Faith) Clancy. She married Harry W. Leigh in 1954; he preceded her in death.
LaVerne was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy in 1940 and earned her Associate's Degree from Springfield College. She worked for Illinois Bell Telephone Company. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Linda A. Puls.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra ; son-in-law Arnold ; five grandchildren, ; and brother, Patrick J., two nephews, several great-nieces and nephews.
Burial will follow at Farmington Cemetery in Farmingdale.
