Annie Marie Harper, 85, died of natural causes at 10:24 a.m. Friday, November 21, 2008, at her home in Bellevue, Wash.
Mrs. Harper was born December 22, 1922, in Paducah, Ky., the daughter of Bryan B. Harper and Annie O. (Romack) Harper. She was raised and spent most of her life in Paducah where she attended Lone Oak High School and was a member of the Lone Oak Methodist Church.
Mrs. Harper married Harold K. Harper of Dogwood, Ky., on February 1, 1941. She was a retired bookkeeper for Wynn Motors and a homemaker. Mrs. Harper was avid about antiques and enjoyed collecting them. In 2003, after the death of her husband, she moved to Bellevue to be close to her son and grandchildren.
Annie Marie Harper is survived by her only son, Kenneth Rhett Harper of Bellevue, Wash., and three grandchildren: Amie K. Sprague, Jason R. Harper and Nicholas R. Harper, all of Bellevue. She is survived by two great-grandchildren, Kristina Marie Sprague and Elizabeth Ann Sprague; and one sister, Ellouise M. (Harper) L'Hussier of Newport Richey, Fla.
Services will be Monday, December 1, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home. The Rev. Kevin Traughber will officiate. Friends may call between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Harper will be buried in Mt. Kenton Cemetery in Lone Oak.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society, 3140 Parisa Dr., Paducah, KY 42003 or the Lone Oak Methodist Church at 3835 Old US 45, Paducah, KY 42003.
