Kenneth Keith Brooks was born the youngest of 11 children to Arthur Crawshaw Brooks and Elizabeth (Lizzie) M. Grosskopf. He married, on October 22, 1929, Deloris Mary Dallaire, daughter of George Alfred Dallaire and Ida Marie Gauvin. They had 3 children, 2 surviving to adulthood.

Kenneth and Deloris Brooks moved to Mound in 1946 and lived with her parents for a year until they bought their home on Phelps Bay.

Kenny worked on Thule Air Force Base in Greenland 1952 Thule Air Base is the U.S. Armed Forces' northernmost installation, located 750 miles north of the Arctic Circle. Thule's arctic environment offers some of the most spectacular scenery found anywhere in the world, including majestic icebergs in the North Star Bay, the massive polar ice cap and Wolstenholme Fjord--the only place on earth where three active glaciers join together. )

Kenny also worked as plumber in Mpls from 1947 to 1975. His hobbies included coin collecting and home remodeling.
