Funeral Services For J.A. Reese
Jefferson Augustus Reese, age 73, retired farmer of Fairmount, died Wednesday, May 16,and funeral services were held at Bethlehem Baptist Church last Thursday afternoon. The Rev. Clyde Blackstock, officiated. Interment followed in the Bethlehem cemetery. Veach and Barton were in charge.
Pallbearers include Clyde Blankenship, Grady Blankenship, Leon Johnson, Homer Stephens, Bailey Nix, and Gene Harmon.
Mr. Reese's parents were Thomas Jefferson Reese, of South Carolina and Sarah Waters Reese of Gordon County. He was a member of Wesley Chapel Methodist Church.
Mr. Reese is survived by his wife the former Miss Minnie Henrietta Franklin, to whom he was married for 47 years; four sons, Ronald L. Reese, Adairsville; Ralph A. Reese, of Chattanooga; William C. Reese and Robert D. Reese, of Fairmount; two brothers, Charles Reese, Dodge City, Texas; Lee R. Reese, Long Beach, Calif.; five sisters, Mrs. J. H. Ellis and Mrs. John Hubbard, of Fairmount; Mrs. Rosa Penn and Mrs. Nell Perry, Atlanta, and Mrs. Luke Prestige, Decatur, Texas.
