bapt Jan 24 1636/7 in Penton Grafton, Hampshire, Eng. He was brought to New England by his parents in 1638, and was a farmer in Sudbury and later in Framingham.

"John Bent bought in 1662 land on the west side of the old Connecticut Path, in what is now the town of Framingham. The first petition for the incorporation of this township was headed by Corporal John Bent, who was chosen one of the tythingmen at the second town meeting in 1701."
