Mr. Millard "Buck" Altman of Malvern passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at his residence. He was 85.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday May 3, in Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m.
Buck was born June 27, 1927 in Jacksonville, FL to the late Millard Buck Altman Sr. and Thelma Roberson Altman. He was of the Baptist faith. A proud Navy veteran, he served in the C.B.'s ("Seabees") Construction Battalion for 12 years. He was also a lifetime member of the VFW Post 3073, DAV Post 87 and the American Legion Post 12.
Survivors include his wife of 14 years, Eloise Altman, Malvern; two daughters: Amanda Axtell (Daniel), Dothan and Charlotte Hamm, Newton; one son, Rickey Hamm, Dothan; four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
