Ralph E. Brant, 71, of Seminole, Fla., formerly of Cumberland, died Thursday in University General Hospital, Largo, Fla. Born in Cumberland on Oct. 16, 1916, he was the son of the late Gilbert and Mary (Barney) Brant.
A 1934 graduate of Penn Avenue High School and a 1939 graduate of Potomac State College, Keyser, W.Va., Mr. Brant received his bachelor's degree from Stetson University, Deland, Fla. He was a retired vice president of operations for the American Cancer Society, Tampa, Fla.
A major in the U.S. Army Medical Administrative Corps from 1941-46 during World War II, he received a Bronze Star for distinguished service during the Battle of the Bulge.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Ingeborg (Schmalfoos) Brant; one brother. Dr. Herman Brant, Dayton, Ohio, and one sister, Geannine Brant, Lancaster, Pa.
Services will be conducted in the Serenity Gardens Funeral Home, 13401 Indian Rocks Road, Largo, Saturday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. John L. Timmerman. Interment will be in Serenity Gardens Cemetery.
