---James R. Barentine, 78, of North Little Rock, died Nov. 12, 2003.
---He was a member of the First Baptist Church of El Dorado and a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy. He was also a retired Pharmaceutical Salesman for Archer Drug Company.
---He is survived by one son, David J. Barentine of Frederick, Md.; and one daughter, Lisa Gay Lee of North Little Rock; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Vernon Barentine of Montgomery, Ala., and Doyle Barentine of El Dorado; two sisters, Wilma "Billie" Hinkson and Alice Cathey, both of Sherwood.
---Funeral services were Saturday at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Cabot.
