Stella M. Beiter Gleason, age 96 of Massillon, died Saturday evening at Meadow Wind Health Care Center surrounded by her family. She was born in Massillon on February 21, 1911 and was the daughter of the late Hank and Lucinda Smith.

Stella had worked as an aide at the former Massillon State Hospital and was a member of the Massillon Baptist Temple.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Gleason, her son, Bill Beiter, her daughter, Elizabeth Jean Beiter, her sisters, Myrtle Warth, Daisy Smith, and Alvina McCauley and her brothers, Norman, PerLee and Virgil Smith.

She is survived by her daughters, Jackie Elavsky and Dolores May (Dale) Kandle both of Massillon, her son Charles E. (June) Beiter of Massillon, 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.

A memorial service will take place on Tuesday at 1:00 P.M. at the Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home with Rev. Cecil Thayer officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour before the service.

The family would like to thank the Hospice team and nursing home staff who took such good care of her.
