Cindy Mefford Mar. 28, 1958 - Oct. 31, 2004 Cindy Mefford, 46, vibrant and caring wife to Randy and dear mother to Shelby, 14, and Quinn, 13, passed away in her Walnut Creek home surrounded by her family and friends after a valiant 7-year battle with cancer. She will be dearly missed by her parents, Ronald Hartman and Josephine Lopez, her loving sisters, Yvonne McAllister and Beverly Peters, her in-laws, John and Louise Mefford, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Throughout her life Cindy exhibited a fearless capacity for life with an unparalleled ability to lead. After attending UCSB and Cal, Cindy worked as a court reporter for 15 years and as a financial planner for 3 years. She was extremely successful at these careers and never shied away from any of life's challenges. She loved sports and coached her daughter's volleyball team. She was a diehard SF Giants fan, leading many group outings to the ballpark. She loved to travel, bake cookies, see Broadway musicals, and make every holiday special for her family. You could always count on Cindy to plan an event or party. Cindy will be remembered for her devotion to the Catholic faith and this faith carried her through this most difficult time. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, November 5, at 11am at St. John Vianney Church on 1650 Ygnacio Valley Road in Walnut Creek.
