Shirleybelle Ross of Wheatland, California died on May 5th at the age of 94. She was born and raised in the Merced area.

Her grandfather came to California during the gold rush and her father was a successful rancher/farmer. She and her husband John moved to Wheatland in 1950, growing clover, dairy and beef cattle. John died in 2001. She was a member of the Native Daughters. She enjoyed traveling and meeting new people. Her family was her #1 love.

She is survived by sons: Dean of Barstow, CA, Melvin of Vancouver, WA, and Fred of Challenge, CA; grandchildren; Dean, Mischa, Brian, Amy, Tara, Tom and Seth; great-grandchildren: Alexander, Sam and Abby.

Visitation will begin at 10:00, services start at 12:00, graveside service at 1:00 on Friday May 10th at Sierra View Memorial Chapel in Olivehurst.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Wounded Warriors Foundation.
