Amanda L. Adams, 99, departed this life to be with the Lord on Monday (March 12, 2001) in Norton Community Hospital.
Born in Scott County, Va., she had been a resident of Wise County, Va. for most of her life.
She was of the Apostolic faith and attended the First Apostolic Church of God at Thackers Branch.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence R. Adams; son, Beryl F. Adams; and daughter, Anna Ruth Adams.
Survivors include her daughters, Virginia Irene McAmis, Murfreesboro, Tenn., Alma Adams, Billie Adams Spears, and Mary Doris Adams, all of Norton, Sue Yarhouse, Richmond, Va., Louise Snodgrass, Wise, Va.; sons, Jesse E. (Bud) Adams, Big Stone Gap, Va., and Donald Ray Adams, Norton, Va.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. John McFalls and the Rev. John McCarroll officiating.
Burial will be in American Legion Cemetery in Big Stone Gap, Va.
