Daughter of: Jonathan Stribling Crabill and Sarah Ann Hall Crabill of Maurertown, Shenandoah County, VA.

Her father and mother owned two historic estates:
The Four Mile House (also known as Mt. Pleasant) consisting of about 600 acres of land which was sold before her father died in 1853.
The Jonathan Crabill Tavern was a two story palatial brick home which fronted the Valley Pike and was one of a few brick homes in the area at the time. This would have been where she was born and grew up. After her father died, her mother married Solomon Clem.

Marion Melville Koontz b.19 Sep 1886 in Manassas,Prince William County had lived in Flint Genessee, Michigan and worked in the auto industry d. 6 Aug 1975 in Wilmington, New Hanover Co, NC. His death certificate lists his mother as Mollie Frances Crabil{l} Koontz. He was married to Janie V.Hansbrough who was born in Culpeper, VA and had the following children:

Family records indicate that Mary "Mollie" Frances died in Manassas on October 25, 1892 possibly due to childbirth and is buried in the Abraham Franklin Koontz plot 10B in the Manassas Cemetery.

When Mary "Mollie" Frances died, Abraham found himself with several young children to care for so 3 years later he remarried in 1895 to a much younger woman some 20 years his junior, Lula Alice Muddiman who was born in 1873. She is buried beside Abraham in the Manassas Cemetery plot 10B in Manassas, VA. and share the same headstone.

Melyssa Webb wrote on the headstone photo she has attached to this memorial, "Here is the grave of the son. There are a few unmarked graves in this plot one of which may have been his mother's. Her name is at least mentioned on this stone."

Although there is no headstone located for Mary "Mollie" Frances, cemetery records lists her name as being buried in the Abraham Franklin Koontz plot.

Jonathan Stribling Crabill {of Maurertown, VA} died 1 Sep 1853

Some 3 months later -

13 Dec 1853: Commissioner assigned all acres of the homestead to Sarah Crabill, widow of Jonathan Crabill, deceased. Deed Book 6, page 297 (including the platial brick two story home on Valley Pike.)

Some 20 years later
14 Jan 1873: Jonathan S. Crabill{Jr} to Mary F. Crabill. Deed Book 11, page 258 {Jonathan Stribling Crabill was Mollie's brother. This brother later served in the Spanish American War in Cuba and lived and died and is buried in the Havana Cemetery in Yell County, AR}

Nearly 11 years later

1 Sep 1884: Abraham Koontz, trustee for Mary F. Koontz (nee Mary "Mollie" Frances Crabill) to Abraham Rickard. Deed Book 25, page 48 - At this point Mollie via her husband's sale of her share of the property relinquished her ownership of any of the estate of her late father, Jonathan Stribling Crabill.

Mollie died some 8 years later on October 1892 which was 3 months after her mother's death {Sarah Ann Hall Crabill Clem} in July 1892.
