Born December 1, 1944 , in Quinnimont WV. She was the late daughter of Charles and Sarah Hanson.
Mrs.Yancey was of the Baptist faith. Carol had a love for baking that started at a young age during her time working at an uptown bakery in Beckley. She also managed one of the town's 1st convenience stores on Harper Road for 17 + years.
Carol enjoyed feeding the birds, planting flowers and working outside in her year. We are very thankful for her niece Lee Creed that helped with her yard in the last year. She had a special nectar recipe that would attract multiple hummingbirds to her yard year after year. She enjoyed spending afternoons on her porch with her neighbors. One special neighbor and best friend that is left to cherish her is Delma Gentry of Beckley.
She was preceded in death by her husband James Thomas Yancey, all of her siblings Ronald E Hanson, Mary Deloris Morehead, Rosa Lee Tate, Ramona Mae Creed and Betty J Pugh.
Survivors include her Son James Patrick Yancey and his wife Julian of Beckley; a special niece Brenda Presnell of Virginia; many nieces, nephews; two special adopted grandchildren Brrittney Bowen and Sidney Dunford II and one great grandchild Piper Lilly along with multiple friends and family.
Patrick and Julian would like to thank 3 special caretakers that have been such a blessing to have, Amy Prado , Joan Bailey and Charlotte Bailey.
Services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 21, 2022 in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Vondie Cook, II officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service.
