NESS CITY - Mildred Cranston Schaben, 83,
died June 2, 1993, at her home in Ness City.

She was born Jan. 3, 1910, at Ness County,
the daughter of Harry and Jessie Ball Cranston.

A lifetime Ness County resident, she was a
homemaker.

She was a member of the United Methodist
Church, United Methodist Women and the
Prudence Rebekah Lodge No. 246, all at
Ness City.

On June 4, 1927, she married Lee Schaben
at Dodge City. He died Sept. 18,1958.

Survivors include: a son, Bill, Macksville;
two daughters, Wilma Gabel, Byers, Colo.,
and Carol Ann Cochran, Farmington, N.M.; a
brother, Harry Cranston, Garden City; 10
grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the
United Methodist Church, with the Rev.
Garner Berg presiding. Burial will be in
the Ness City Cemetery. Memorials may be
sent to the church or to the Byers' Rescue
Squad in care of Fitzgerald Funeral Home,
Ness City.
