Stone reads "Aged about 45 years", which would put Eli DOB about 1844. However, the 1850 census shows his age as 38. The 1860 census showed 50, 1870 as 55, and 1880 as 79. He is on the Loudoun Co. death records microfilm with a DOD of 1889. All this makes it very unclear as to Eli's actual DOB.
The old Ebenezer Methodist Episcopol Church was located just off Harpers Ferry Road near Neersville, in Loudoun County, Virginia. The remains of the church and cemetery are in terrible shape with the majority of the stones deep in the thicketts and brush.

I assumed management of this memorial on May 6, 2022 when I noticed that Eli's date of birth was 1844 and that his mother's birth date was 1776. Management had fallen to Findagrave at that time. I have arbitrarily set his year of birth as 1814. The above comments are as they were when I assumed management. As stated, it is very unclear when Eli was born. I decided on 1814 for several reasons: his mother would have been about 38 in 1814, his father would still be living, he would be or a reasonable age to marry in 1838 and have a child born in 1846, his birth would fall between two of his siblings.
