John Weltle, aged 70, passed away yesterday about 10 a.m. at his home 106 N. Hester St. after a long illness.
Surviving are the widow, and three children Louis Mehling and Albert Weltle both of Norwalk; and Henry Weltle of Kenton. There are nine grandchildren.
Mr. Weltle was born in Balrechten, Baden, Germany, Dec 27, 1853 and came to this country in about 1870. For a number of years he lived at Bellevue. He resided in Norwalk, about 40 years. Mr. Weltle was one of the oldest butchers and meat cutters in this county and was proprietor of meat markets on Main and Hester streets.
Mr. Weltle was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church. He was a member of the German Verein. Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday. Interment will be made in St. Paul's Cemetery.
