Mrs. Amelia Bailey
Norwalk, April 13 - Mrs. Amelia Weltle Bailey, 79, died at her home, 106 North Hester St. after a long illness. Born Sept. 25, 1865 in Baden, Germany, she came to the United States with her parents at the age of 10.
She was united in marriage to John Weltle and with her husband was prominent in business circles here. They conducted a meat market at Main and Hester Sts many years. Mr. Weltle died 22 years ago and she became the wife of Lewis Bailey, who also preceded her in death.
She was a faithful member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and the Altar Society. Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Louis Mehling, of Norwalk, and Henry Weltlin of Kenton, O., nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Jacob Bishman of Norwalk and a brother, Richard Fox of Norwalk.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 9:30 a.m. from St. Paul's Catholic Church, the Rev. Fr. Frederick J. Mehling, a grandson of Mrs. Weltle, will officiate.
