COFFEEN - Charles M. White, 86, of Coffeen, formerly of Wellington and Vandalia, died Friday, May 20, 2005, at his home.

He was born April 5, 1919, in Coffeen, the son of Charles Earl and Lillie McCaslin White. He married Amber Harvey in 1939 in St. Charles; she died in 2003.

Mr. White was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving in Black Forest, Germany. He owned and operated a milk hauling business and owned a restaurant in Coffeen.

Survivors: son, Gary J. (wife, Margie) White of Coffeen; daughter, Judy K. (husband, Mike) Thacker of Coffeen; four grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brother, James White of Kansas City, Mo.; and two sisters, Lucy Ross of Schram City and Jewel Elam of Irving.

Services: 3 p.m. Sunday, United Methodist Church, Coffeen, the Rev. John Walsh officiating. Burial: Olive Hill Cemetery, Coffeen.
