Funeral Services were held Sunday for Mrs. Ethel May Price Godfrey, 79, at the Meadow Branch Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery with Dowdle Funeral Home of Millport in charge of arrangements. Officiating ministers were Rev . Rayburn Trull and Rev. Barney Olive. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Charlie (Addie Lou) Moore, of Belk, AL., Mrs. Effie Trull (Gray), Kennedy, AL., Mrs. Ruth Peddicord (Ed), of San Pedro, CA., three sons, Hubert Godfrey (Hettie), of Coker, AL., Roy Godfrey (Armetta)of Sulfur, LA., and Willie C. (Gwyn)of Albuquerque, NM., 17 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Those preceding her in death were; her husband James Albert Godfrey, son Benjamin Franklin Godfrey, daughter Ratha Godfrey.
She was born 16 Dec 1889 and died 27 Jun 1969. She was the daughter of Hubert Manley and Nancy Clanton Price. Her parents died 3 days apart from typhoid when she was only 7 years old. She and her two younger brothers went to live with their grandparents Jackson & Cornelia Trull Price until their death. She raised her two young brothers. She married James Albert Godfrey 1 July 1906 in Lamar Co., AL
