Charles Thomas Below, 89, of 1202 N. Main, widower of Volley Stokes Below, died Friday, April 23, 2004, at Abbeville County Memorial Hospital.

Born in McCormick, he was the son of the late Waymon Amiel and Jennie Daniel Below. He was a retired engineer with the CSX Railroad. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers. He was a faithful and active member of the Main St. United Methodist Church.

Surviving are son, Gregory S. Below of Taylors; daughter, Donna Belk of Lenoir, N.C.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Main St. United Methodist Church by the Rev. Bob Clemons; burial will be in Bells United Methodist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at Greene Center at Main St. United Methodist Church before services at 2 p.m. Sunday.

The family is at the home.
